Premier League 2011-2012
Re: Premier League 2011-2012
I was hoping for Bellamy to be introduced much earlier.
Carroll hasn't done much wrong recently, he's been fine but big target men do tend to peak much later than smaller, faster forwards.

Just to reiterate what i said from the locked thread about AVB getting the bullet . . . . . . . . I'm shocked

Apparently the favourite to take over is . . . .

Well Well Well.
Who next?
The Special one is ear marked for Spurs so not sure who next
You missed the boat Chelsea, Martin o'Neil was ya man!
Here's the full Chelsea statement:
"Andre Villa-Boas has parted company with Chelsea Football Club today.
"The board would like to record our gratitude for his work and express our disappointment that the relationship has ended so early.
"Unfortunately the results and performances of the team have not been good enough and were showing no signs of improving at a key time in the season.
"The club is still competing in the latter stages of the Uefa Champions League and the FA Cup, as well as challenging for a top-four spot in the Premier League, and we aim to remain as competitive as possible on all fronts.
"With that in mind we felt our only option was to make a change at this time.
"With immediate effect Roberto Di Matteo has been appointed first team coach on an interim basis until the end of the season."

Diplomacy is the ability to tell a man to go to hell so that he looks forward to making the trip
Re: Premier League 2011-2012
According to one of the pundits at the Beeb (so it must be true
), AVB was Abramovich's 1st solo appt! At the end of the day, he was out of his depth, being too young and inexperienced.
As for the comments of Graham Taylor and Gary Neville, the well known Chelsea lover, the less said the better! Scholes talked of the rift at England between Manu players and others and Neville has the front to criticise others - pillock!
But I do hope Di Matteo brings Wilkins back into the fold? I'm not sure his leaving is something we have overcome? But I wish the guy luck.
With the exception of the brilliant Mata, AVB's signings have not taken the club forward, they are only equal at their very best, to what is already in place?
At seasons end, it has to be Mourinho or someone of that ilk, unless Di Matteo turns it around, but thats a hell of an ask!
As ever, only time will tell.

How effin' predictable was that! Only one team playing any football, United get a corner in the last minute and nick a lead.
But that's what you get for not scoring - how Saha managed to whack it straight at Adebayor only he knows.
But for a patched up team, Spurs look real class, and if they keep playing that way they're in with a chance.

I understood Wilkins was axed because of a series of run-ins with the ruskicaller wrote:

Besides that, would he really be interested in returning to a club that treated him so shabbily??

However, it's no real surprise & i too think he was out of his depth.
Not a great state of affairs at this crucial point of the season though

I'd not heard that and can't understand how it could have come about? He's still involved with the club and would come back without any problems.redzonerocker wrote:I understood Wilkins was axed because of a series of run-ins with the ruski![]()

Bit of a breeze for the mancs this afternoon! Game over at WHL - bar how many goals ManU score?

Got that from a pretty reliable Chelski fan, who's pretty in the knowcaller wrote: I'd not heard that and can't understand how it could have come about?

Did you know he got the news of his dismissal halfway through watching a reserve team game with Ancellotti!!

Apparently Carlo expressed his disapproval, which was probably the beginning of the end for him too

Really? He's still involved with the club and would come back without any problems.
I know he's still got strong links but thought working with Skysports was his only involvement in football.
Almost as big a mugging as we did at Anfield yesterdayBit of a breeze for the mancs this afternoon! Game over at WHL - bar how many goals ManU score?

True - it's been an awful couple of weeks for Spurs.caller wrote:Bit of a breeze for the mancs this afternoon! Game over at WHL - bar how many goals ManU score?

But hang on a sec, we still seem to be in 3rd place by 4 points with a superior goal difference!

I think all Spurs fans would have been quite happy if offered that at the start of the season.

This is the way

A week ago, we we facing a 13 point difference to the 3rd spot. Now we are four behind it. I'm starting to believe in miracles.
