Lucky for him most Issan Thai's are professional mourners they will travel all over to attend funerals of some distant cousin, here it's a far bigger party at a funeral, than it is at a wedding and it can be 3-4 days of hard drinking.
Thats why they are trying to enforce a no alcohol rule at funerals, but that is just a ridiculous unenforceable idea. Imagine trying to take free booze away from a rice farmer.
