KFC are opening in the Hua Hin Colonnade Mall
Re: KFC are opening in the Hua Hin Colonnade Mall
Bizarrely, I've paid for Thai kids to eat KFC up in Buriram whilst sitting outside at a street stall with a bowl of noodles and a bottle of Chang. Unfortunately they're getting pounded with TV advertising that has convinced them that it's actually worth eating.

It is worth eating, it's fried chicken, what's not to love?STEVE G wrote:Bizarrely, I've paid for Thai kids to eat KFC up in Buriram whilst sitting outside at a street stall with a bowl of noodles and a bottle of Chang. Every Thai market also has Fried Chicken too, is that more Thai and acceptable? Chicken=good, Fried=Tasty.
I actually enjoy the mash and gravy too.

Also nothing up with BK Burgers and McDonalds breakfasts too.

You're correct BB. Thais in general enjoy fried chicken, so of course they're going to enjoy KFC. The only reason the don't eat more of it is because of the cost. I personally enjoy KFC as well, but only once every now and then, and like I said before, I consider it much better than McD and/or BK.

Agree with you that IF I have a burger then it would be BK

I'd have to be very desparate to have a McD breakfast though.

The McD breakfasts in England are way better than here. They have McBacon Roll!

I quite enjoy KFC IF and it's a big IF, it's done well and unfortunately there are fewer and fewer outlets these days that do it well. I was at the MV KFC last year when we were in HH and whilst I don't recall the price point much, I do recall that the food itself was pretty ropey, so much so that I had to apologise to my better half for dragging her in there, when she wanted to go elsewhere.....will not be going backbapak wrote:KFC have had a outlet in Market Village for some time. I have never visited the location so someone else will have to comment on price.

The problem is not the very chicken. It's the saturated fat in which it is fried and the breading that sucks up the fat. I guess a KFC meal once or twice a year won't harm you but there are those (especially in the U.S.A.) whose diet mainly consists of KFC and other fast food.BaaBaa. wrote:It is worth eating, it's fried chicken, what's not to love?STEVE G wrote:Bizarrely, I've paid for Thai kids to eat KFC up in Buriram whilst sitting outside at a street stall with a bowl of noodles and a bottle of Chang. Fatness in some Asian countries is a sign of status and wealth.... I prefer to think of it that way.

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

In my heavier days I was in Kenya. And because of my volume by the locals considered a very wealthy and influential man. Those were the days......
