When was your first visit to Hua Hin?

Oh.......my first visit was many moons ago. It was just a quaint little village with three little boats boats tied to the jetty. We'd all gather around and welcome the fishermen back home in the evenings. There were no cars back then, and no pollution. We never even had electric. Didn't need it because it was always early to bed and early to rise. Then one day a bus full of Farang tourists arrived, and our quiet little village was destroyed.

Completely different town with the growth in the last 8 years since I've been here. I can't imagine the differences you'll see in 19 years.

Our first visit was in March 2008on the suggestion of a colleque who worked with me on a project in Muscat, loved it, bought/leased land, built a villa on it and we have been spending most of our holidays there since. Hope to retire there as well, hopefully 2-3 years from now.

February 2002.... I didn't marvel then at the quaint fishing village it was.... but I do remember saying... to no one in particular... about how much horse shit there was all over the beach...

2004 - After staying in Cha-Am for 3 days, I only intended to stay a couple of days before heading further south, but consistent hangovers prevented me from leaving. Came back to Hua-Hin every visit to Thailand since, and soon decided it was where I wanted to settle.

Finally made it, nearly 8 years later!

Hi, my first visit to HH was in summer 2010, I loved it and went back again in Dec 2010 and have just booked my flight to return in Easter 2012. I can't wait!

2005 - The wife dragged me kicking and screaming to Chiva Som for 5 days of healthy living, despite my misgivings loved the place, though didn't really see anything of HH itself, as I was too busy tying myself in knots and stretching things that hadn't been stretched since I was just out of the womb. Came back again the following year and started to discover the charms of HH and have been coming every year since, though not to CS I hasten to add and now have the place there and will eventually be settling there.
