hi there while going thru some of my late fathers effects i have come across an old pass book with a balance of over 75000 bhat.presuming this money is still there. which i doubt. how would i go about getting hold of it.? am in bkk for a couple of days in august do you think its worth going into the branch where opened. last transaction was 24/05/2001

Im very sorry to hear about your father.
You will get advice from more knowledgeable people on here, but I would think you could find out if any money is still in the account if you took the bank book into the branch. They will also give you the information on what documents you would need to retrieve any funds remaining.
I would imagine you would need some sort of death certificate.
Perhaps if you rang the bank before you go, they might tell you over the phone what documents you would need?

The bank branch is most likely to be a TMB Bank branch now. In 2004, DBS Thai Danu Bank was aborbed by TMB Bank (formerly known as Thai Military Bank).

I suggest, in the first instance, you write to the HO of TMB Bank, sending the letter by Recorded Delivery, putting the situation to them and see what happens
