Paying Monthly Motorbike

Post by Uktom »

Me and my partner are looking to start paying monthly on a motorbike. She already ones a 2 year old fino but that is in BKK and her family uses it. We are not looking for anything new to be honest, a 4speed would be good. Any ideas on price ranges per month and locations?

I'm not 100% what the installments typically are, but you quite often find offers where the deposit is 99 baht.

The Honda scooters tend to cost a little more than the other makes, but still, they are very affordable. I'm sure someone else will have some up to date info regarding deposits and installments.

Cheers, I was thinking obviously about the honda waves lol or something similar, 4 speed. My partner (Thai) will be doing the buying so it will be in her name. If people could supply some prices monthly that would be great, new or second hand.

Hire-purchase on a motorbike here is a complete rip-off.

You down anything from 100 baht to 5k baht and have a monthly payment of 1,500 baht a month for three years and end up paying 70k for a 35k bike if for cash.

Man......good example of 'highway robbery' imo.

Also, these companies are very harsh and will pick the thing up from you if you don't pay for 3 months as they often work on the MO that a bike can be sold a couple of times before it's finally paid for and released from the Nazis that operate the garages and play 'hardball' with they locals over this.

Better to pay cash if you can but have heard stories of garages not accepting cash payment and won't sell unless it's on credit bcause they can't extort money from you..............

Well my partner paid for her fino with cash in monthly installments before I met her, not renting, I am not talking about renting. You do end up paying a lot more than it is worth in the end, but it is setup for people who do not have that amount of money upfront in the first place lol..

OK, whatever that means man and I wasn't talking about renting either. :?

I was talking about hire-purchase, and to give it it's layman's term....'Paying monthly'.

Just crossed wires man, I guess.

Yea no problems lol, sometimes on the net that happens, also you may have thought that I had a certain tone to my words, I don't know, but I was not offended or angry or anything lol. The internet can be so monotone.

So anyway, do you think that around 1,500 per month for a 4speed would sound about right?
