Winter Rugby

Post by PeteC »

You may want to start this one up Pharvey, or wait for the Championship (former Tri-Nations). Up to you. Pete

Winter Tours Rugby

June also sees the big rugby nations coming together, with various Test matches and midweek games to look forward to. Some of the smaller nations are also in action, and we've brought the fixtures together for a fun Winter Tours prediction game featuring the Springboks, All Blacks, Wallabies, England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, France and more. Note that the Rugby Championship (the replacement for Tri-Nations) will be separate tournament opening in June.

Wasn't too sure whether to start this one, as not so many lovers of the game played in heaven on the forum :tsk:

BUT..... some truly great games ahead. Beelzibub's XV against the Boks, God's own against the Crims and lots, lots more!!

Anyway, league has been set up. Members who have played previous tournaments will have an invite by email, but for those who haven't played before, use the following details: -

I`m not in this game but I bet everyone got the Oz v Scots game wrong. So Pharvey, all your boys have to do on Saturday is pray for a hurricane and hope the Aussies forget it`s a 15 man game and stick to their 10 man strategy.

Certainly correct on the first point!! Superb victory for the Scots, a bit of a "DOH!" moment with the celebrations though!!

As for Wales - didn't get to see the game, but sounds like Wales were slow starters and certainly the better team won on the day....... still 2 tests to go yet though!!

Ireland..... ouch! Things just didn't go their way, but the Blackness are looking very, very good...

England - Pretty good display, but they were in desperate need of a play-maker. A couple of key players, most notably Farrell had an off day in my book.

Looking forward to the 2nd tests all round........

AND BLOODY LAST PLACE IN THE HH Forum STANDINGS YET AGAIN!!!!  :cuss: :cuss:

Massive display from the "Oirish" today, and thoroughly unlucky to come away with a loss - 19 v19 with 30 secs to go - the AB's with a drop goal to take the match 22 v 19 and an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3 test series.

A couple of the AB's let themselves down though, with some very petulant, cynical play - especially when under the cosh. Lost a lot of respect for one or two of the Blackness today :(

Fair play to Ireland who never took a backwards step - looking forward to the 3rd test next regardless of a series loss!

Next up Australia vs Wales!!
