Re: Pancakes
Savoury, sweet, thick ones, crepes?
If this is a serious post, the answer will be dozens of restaurants and quite a few stalls dotted around the place as well.

Re: Pancakes
If you're talking about the normal American breakfast pancakes, I would ask Terrace 90 first. If no luck, they're a snap to make yourself. Villa Market will have either Bisquick or Aunt Jemima pancake mix available. If you buy the local Thai mix named Imperial, it's made with tapioca flour I believe and the flapjacks from that are not too good IMO. Log Cabin pancake syrup should also be available.
A breakfast that can kill you if eaten too often...a dozen pancakes smothered in fresh butter and syrup with a side of about 1 pound of bacon.

Re: Pancakes
In the night market there is a pancake vendor on the left hand side walking up, this dude makes pancakes so fast chops them into tiny squares and serves them with Carnation and other toppings.
Well worth 20 baht, i always purchase a couple of trays, yum yum.

Thick, thin or crepe (ultra thin)
Easy to make your own IMO

Re: Pancakes
Absolutely, all purpose flour, egg(s) and milk - add as much milk as you want, less for thick pancakes, more for crepe type ones. Cook in a very hot 8"/20cm frying pan with a small amount of oil. Bon appetite!!richard wrote:DM has a pointdtaai-maai wrote:Savoury, sweet, thick ones, crepes?

Re: Pancakes
Yes very easy to make at home 'Ichard - the problem is what sort of pancakes are we talking about here? Basically either American thick squishy ones or English thin almost crispy - aka crepes I guess (although we don't like to be associated with anything French.)richard wrote:DM has a pointdtaai-maai wrote:Savoury, sweet, thick ones, crepes?

The problem is that in the LOS it is either the American thick squishy, which are great with a half bottle of maple syrup - or the thin ones done Thai style with Carnation and bananas. Equally deelish of course but not British!
There is nowhere I know of that does the Brit version like the Pancake House chain used to do in London (and maybe still does) with a plate sized 'crepe' topped with icecream - fruit - chocolate sauce or whatever the heart desired.
They are so easy. Just plain flour (bread type flour) mixed with egg to a smooth paste, then milk added until the mixture is very runny. No salt - no water - (those additives are for Yorkshire Pudd mix only.) And don't beat the mixture.
For American style pancakes the packet mixes are widely available in the LOS.
