Worst match of the games for Finland and no excuses, we were awful and a sorry lot. U.S. of the A. beat us 5-0. We will play them in the quarter-finals again and unless we find a new gear from somewhere, the games will be over for us. U.S did play extremely well, have to admit that, even better than Canada but then again, the Russians look strong as well.

Last group stage match ends in our 4-1 victory over Kazakhstan. The quarter-final will be against U.S.A so it doesn't look good for us unless we can play much better than yesterday.

A totally different team of Finnish Lions played tonight. With only 8 seconds left Finland scored 3-2 and so the U.S.A. can start packing their bags for their over-Atlantic flight. The same goes for Canada who surprisingly lost 3-4 against Slovakia. Finland will meet Russia in the semi-finals as we did last year and the Slovaks the winners of Sweden vs Czech Republic, which will be played soon.

There was no stopping of the Ivans. Their attacks went through the Finnish defensive lines as they did in the Karelian Isthmus in 1944.
