Euro 2012
Re: Euro 2012
I'll define big in terms of trophies and fanbase. I class Arsenal as the 3rd biggest club in England and you haven't won a trophy for 8 years. We're 3rd on the list of European cups, I'd say we are pretty big.
Re: Euro 2012
I'd say you were and with the right manager and financial clout, because lets not kid ourselves thats not relevant, you might be again. Time will tell if Rodgers is the man and I hope he does well for you.BaaBaa. wrote:I'd say we are pretty big.
Getting back to the thread title, I think there must be some concern about the injuries we have sustained since players joined the England party, okay, Cahill was unfortunate and to be blunt what happened to him was disgraceful, but Barry, Lamps and the Terry scare suggests to me that someone has got things wrong in the camp re: the preperations these guys needed?
Uefa Team Rankings 2012
1 Barcelona 157.837
2 Man Utd 141.857
3 Chelsea 134.857
4 Bayern Munich 132.003
5 Real Madrid 121.837
6 Arsenal 113.857
7 Internazionale 104.996
8 Atlético Madrid 100.837
9 Porto 98.069
10 Lyon 94.835
Talk is cheap
Re: Euro 2012
Martin Kelly called up, happy for the lad. Dirk Kuyt has left, gutted.

no euro 2012 on true visions
apparently you cant watch the euros 2012 if you have a true visions box , even though they are on free to air channels ( 3.5 & 9)
a company called grammy ( not heard of them before ) has the rights and is refusing true screening rights , so all you will see on those channels at that time is a blank screen !
does this mean if you have a dream box / masterbox hooked up to true satellite u still cant view the games ?
if not it will have to be through the internet ( wiziwig etc ) or sign up for cable tv for a month
it would be nice to watch the game in HD as well ( we are in the 21st century now )

Re: Euro 2012
What does everyone think about Rio Ferdinand not being in the squad because John Terry is a racist pikey?
Re: Euro 2012
I normally want the Dutch to do well but well done Agger, captained Denmark to victory with a man of the match performance, Carry on lad.
Best ball playing centreback going, shame he's made of playdough for Liverpool.

Re: Euro 2012
Great insight on the BBC. Lineker: "How do you think England will line up in central defence Harry? " Redknapp: "well I tried to sign Gary Cahill for Tottenham, fantastic player"
Re: Euro 2012
Yeo. Good win for Denmark. Michael Krohn-Dehli played a wonderful game and scored the victory goal.BaaBaa. wrote:I normally want the Dutch to do well but well done Agger, captained Denmark to victory with a man of the match performance, Carry on lad.

Stefan Andersen, the goalie, is also to be commended for keeping the cage clean despite a heavy Dutch bombardement. Van Persie is really an *sshole, roughing up Agger without the ref interfering.

Yeah, Van Persie was all elbows, Agger just shrugs it off though, I've never seen him lose his rag, it's like he's stoned half the time.

Re: Euro 2012
Hodgson rallies his troops.
“It could be the most terrific three weeks or the most torrid of my career,’’ Hodgson said. “By that I mean because the players have let myself and the team down very badly, we have played very badly and that fair-minded people watching us are thinking 'my God what are they doing?’
“If that does happen I will learn an awful lot about what I need to do in the coming couple of years to make sure it doesn’t happen in Brazil in 2014.
“I can honestly say that’s the thing that could make it really torrid for me - if I get a totally different reaction in the games from what I am expecting to see from these players.
"If they have conned me into thinking I am working with a good bunch, and this is a bunch who won’t let me or the team or the nation down, then suddenly in three games they really do, then that for me would be the real painful blow.
"That would be much more painful than if I have to read that I got the team wrong or Ishould have picked this player or done that or the penalty spot wasn’t bright enough.”

Re: Euro 2012
Hodgson is probably the most incompetent manager around these days. He was fired in Copenhagen, he was fired in Liverpool, etc etc, and his tactics are hopelessly old-fashioned. England really needs all the luck it can get.BaaBaa. wrote:Hodgson rallies his troops.

Yep, he's an embarrassment. Don't forget Blackburn and Inter fired him.Lung Per wrote:Hodgson is probably the most incompetent manager around these days. Here's another example of his "man management"
"Rio Ferdinand for me is not a player that you call up as a substitute or to cover for the players that you have"
"We turned to Martin Kelly because I knew he was going to be someone who would be very useful to us. He's very happy to be here knowing that his chances of playing a big part in the tournament are quite small. You don't turn to people like Rio Ferdinand for that."
