Makes sense, although as we all know TIT and I wanted to be certain!!

Yes, you need peace of mind with these things. But just be aware that they will have you jumping through hoops of their own invention just because they can!
May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil know`s you`re dead!

You'd think so, wouldn't you, but I thought HH were quite serious about people reporting within 24 hours of their return? I haven't left the country for over 5 years, but I'm sure I read that on here somewhere.
Yes, they did start enforcing that a while ago and I'm not sure if they still are.
I was out of the country for a few days last year and didn't bother with the 24 hour thingy on return. No-one pulled me on it at the next 90 day report although I did go when it was due from before exiting. I knew I didn't have to do the 90 day, but thought going might throw a smokescreen over the 24 hour report.
Whatever, I wasn't chastised.
I made my 90-day reporting last week (90 days after I arrived from Vietnam). My due-date in the passport was in February 2012, but as I was in Malaysia in December and in Vietnam in March I never was longer than 90 days in Thailand. I never made the 24-hour reporting and had no problems to get my new stamp.
How far ahead can you do a Re-entry thingy? Do you need a ticket?
Doing a 90 day job next week and wondering if I can do a re-entry for early Sept

It’s none of my business what people say and think of me. I am what I am and do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. It makes life so much easier.
="Dannie Boy"........whereas a re-entry stamp a few days before the 16th Aug is essential.
Just as a point of interest; you can get a re-entry permit at any time, it does not have to be just before you leave. It will remain valid for either the validity of your visa, or your permitted to stay date, which ever is the longest.
You don't need a ticket. If you don't travel, you've simply wasted your money.
