Just read an interesting stat... not sure of the truth behind it but, apparantly we have NEVER beaten Sweden in a competetive match.

Not a bad cross and header that. Walcott did well. Hodgsons 8-0-2 formation is grim to watch though.

Bendtner received a 100 grand (euros) fine and is banned for 1 WC qualifier for showing off his 'Paddy Power' shorts after scoring. A bit harsh that.

Lots of comparisons being made in the UK press with the fines being issued for racist chants (much less), usually by some of the former Yugoslav Countries, but they have history on their side in that respect, talking of which, just read that Germany are facing a fine for a neo-nazi flag or something slimilar being displayed amongst their fans. Well, eufa may not like it and that may well be an offence in Germany, but elsewhere? And how can the Country be held responsible? Its all nuts.

Just found the link, its also about 'inappropriate chanting' - whatever that is?

Or sent off. He's never actually done the business in a major tournament.

Did anybody see the Rooney "unleash the beast" "advert" for the game at half time during the Spain v Croatia match? One of the most cringeworthy things I've ever seen.

Also, I keep reading how Rooney is England's best player since Gazza, now, I know Gerrard has never really ripped it up consistently for England, partly due to his own adaptability, but has Rooney EVER hit the heights Gerrard has when he was arguably the best in the world? He was certainly the most complete.

The ref was giving yellow cards away like smarties
