Poor Downing hasnt played yet so maybe you are confusing him with that pudding,Milner ?
He looked a fair player at Villa but since he joined Citeh he seems to have piled on the pounds.
Tried hard against France but should have scored in the first half and almost gave the French a goal with a sloppy back pass in the second......out wide he just cant take a man on.
Against Sweden and Ukraine he was woeful.....
There must be a better alternative......Walcott,Henderson......but I wouldnt play Downing. :(
We're all on our uppers,we're all going skint,

"IF" Johnson is the best RB in the league (and I can't believe many would agree that he is), it highlights the lack of quality elsewhere. If you were to carry out a poll on the best RB's over the past 20-30 years, Johnson wouldn't get a look in.

Johnson is shite, Kyle Walker is the best young player in the country. Weird bunch the English.

Thank you, well spotted.
Always have confused them and surely always will.
Probably because they're both crap.

Mind you, I hesitate to say that about a Liverpool player these days, as it invariably leads to a 3-page debate!

Nope, not hear, I agree that Downing has offered absolutely nothing so far.

It's a 1.45am kick off Richard, so it will be only those that do "after-hours" - I am sure you will know which ones.

DB

It's not for me but an avid footie supporter here in HH and does not know much about the bar scene

Me? I'll set the alarm and catch up on the laptop. Always take a pee at 4am anyway (old git now)

Have a few extra beers so that you wake up early, that way you can watch the match live on Channel 3

The Japan World cup was best, actually on at decent hours. This is the first tournament out of 4 I'm in England for so I actually get it at decent times.

Ashly's Coles Agincourt moment:

“You know with most English lads, and you can see it in this team, we’re like 11 bulldogs who will never give up, who will always work for each other and basically die on the pitch for each other. So far, it seems to be working.”

On the National Anthem:

“It’s massive. You can see so many people shouting it out because they really believe in what we are singing. When you’ve got all the England fans singing it as well it gives you goosebumps. It’s something we’re proud to sing. When you come out and know you’re singing the national anthem it gives you a buzz and gets you lifted for the game.”

On euro 2012:

“I’ve been lucky enough to play 97 times and hopefully, you never know, I will get to 100 in the final, which would be amazing, it’s what little kids’ dreams are made of,”

On er, Terry:

“He’s been a great servant for Chelsea, Whatever is going on in his life he puts to the back of his mind and does the job in a great professional way. When it comes down to it he’s someone who will put his body on the line for any team and any players he plays with. It’s a joy to play with that guy.”

Wonder what he'll have to say in 90 or so minutes?

Gerrard or Rooney need a stormer or it's going to be the most boring game ever. Gerrard has even surprised me though, really thought his best days were gone but he's been one of the stand out players.

Parker needs to nulify Pirlo. Good luck with that.
