How about a photocopy of the personal details page of your ppt certified by the British Embassy?

While you wait for a response here, you should send an email to the consular section at the embassy and ask them directly. I understand they can be quite helpful.

I thought that, but when I looked it up, it's not like the good old days when you were almost guaranteed a 24 hour turnaround. The turnaround is now 20 days - Performance Indicators really degraded the system :?

I have done that DM but from experience BB is correct the responce times vary greatly

Since getting this form to fill in i have sent so many emails i had to throw water on my puter it was so hot

Its funny in a way but i am unable to remember my Army enlistment date 1963 sure but day and month     as for discharge date i had to do a web search for the Falkland war to work out it was late 83/early 84
FGS it was 49 years ago

the question that baffles me is they want dates from and to for HOLIDAYS spent in the UK :cuss: :cuss:

and they on their website have a 10 working day limit ish

My pension is due 30/12/12 the form says if they recieve this form more than 4 four months before that date (30Aug2011)it will be disallowed
on the same page it says if it is not recieved before 6 weeks from me recieving it (14 Jul 2011) they will automatically presume i am not claiming it

in other words i am buggered if i do and buggered if i dont

however i will deal with Birth cert first

If you google replacement UK Birth Certificates you will find the Govt. Web site to get a replacement. Cost about £10.

When my wife applied for her UK pension it was a problem as Birth Certificates were not common in Thailand years ago. They eventually accepted Passport/ National Health Certificates etc but we had to send originals not copies.

Good Luck

Hi Sargeant,
If you google the area you where born(if in UK) you can apply for a birth certificate on line, the send it to you takes around 10 day, a little longer to Thailand I guess. I have just done this and all was excepted.

Good luck
Ken.

No you're not. If your claim is received after your 65th. birthday the amount due is backdated.

Why not send them one of your three original passports for proof of birth? (Scan the original for future need , if any) As for holidays, make a list directly from your passports showing the immigration stamp dates. Any thing else doesn't matter as there is no other record.

This company will mail a copy to you here in Thailand...costs 25 quid.

Correct. They just send forms out early to try to ensure that pensions kick in on the due date (which is the first Monday after the 65th birthday in your case Sarge.)
But you really will need an original copy birth cert. Go straight to the Registrar for it.
The reason for them asking about dates of visits to the UK will no doubt be to try to establish your UK residency status. As you know Brits who are classed as non resident and therefore living in Thailand don't get the annual increase.
