A high scoring race for most. Both Pitsch and Pharvey hit or surpassed the 10 point mark with 10.3 and 10.0 respectively. Eight of us picked Hamilton to win.

Our top four are now Pitsch, RZR, Parahandy and JJ Bones.

As Superbru has the habit of changing the fastest pit stop winner a day or so after the race, if anyone notices a change later this week please post.

Next up is the European GP on June 24, good luck to all. :thumb: Pete

A new venue in the next couple of years, or simply not feasible?

London 2012 Olympics: plan to hold Formula One race in and around Olympic Stadium on bid shortlist

Plans for a London Formula One Grand Prix on a track running in and around the Olympic Stadium is among the bids being considered for London 2012’s showpiece arena.

Telegraph Sport can reveal that the ambitious plan that could allow another British round of the world championship - Silverstone is locked into a long-term deal - to be staged in Stratford is one of four bids accepted for consideration by the London Legacy Development Corporation earlier this year.

The bid was tabled by a company based in Wanstead, east London, which discussed its plans with Formula One chief executive Bernie Ecclestone before finalising its bid.

Ecclestone confirmed that he had been approached and that he had expressed an interest in staging the race if the bid was successful.

“This is a firm that happened to be bidding for use of the stadium, not to own it. They came up with a scheme whereby Formula One would race around the stadium, inside it, outside it. They wanted to make sure I would be interested,” he told Telegraph Sport this week.

Asked if he remained interested in staging a London F1 race, Ecclestone said: “Yeah.”
(Bernie's certainly a big talker on the matter).....

The record ends with this Alonso win. 7 different winners in the first 7 races, and now Alonso has a second having won the Malaysian GP.

No one picked Alonso to win. Seven of us would have been in the money, probably, if Vettel had not broken down. Some one else with a Renault engine had the same alternator problem, perhaps a Chinese copy part?

Parahandy had the best race with 8.5 points. The top four are now Parahandy, RZR. Pitsch and Terry.

Next up is the British GP on July 8.

Well done to Webber who chalks up his second win this season. Big Boy had the best race with 7.5 points. No one picked Webber to win. Very little change in our standings and the top four remain Parahandy, RZR, Pitsch and Terry, although the top 3 are starting to pull away. JW had his best race so far with 7 points. Not all doom and gloom JW :D .

Next up is Germany on July 22. Good luck to all. :thumb: Pete

1 - Parahandy 70.25
2 - redzonerocker 68.75
3 - pitsch 68.50

6 ▼ 1 Pete 62.50
7 - lindosfan 62.00

Webber extends Red Bull F1 deal

http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sport/ ... l-f1-deal/

Australian Mark Webber on Tuesday ended speculation about his future by signing a new one-year contract with Red Bull Racing for 2013.

Webber, who claimed the ninth victory of his Formula One career on Sunday in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, had been linked with a move to Ferrari.

But the 35-year-old, who trails Ferrari's Fernando Alonso by 13 points in the overall standings, has opted to remain with Red Bull for a seventh season.

"I've been with Red Bull Racing since 2007 and have achieved nine grand prix wins during that time," said Webber.

"I'm high on confidence at the moment and firing on all cylinders.

"I know the team well and I'm very comfortable here. We have grown together over the years and it feels like absolutely the right thing to stay with Red Bull for another season.

"The team is constantly working hard to improve in all areas and we've shown that together, we can win races.

"It's great to be able to make this announcement off the back of the win in Silverstone at the weekend and I'm looking forward to competing on the edge and pushing myself in every race again next season."

Team chief Christian Horner added: "Mark has driven very well in the first nine races of this season and his performance has been impressive.

"Much of his Formula One success has been during his time with Red Bull Racing and together we have achieved 10 poles, nine wins and 31 podiums.

"As there was a strong desire from both sides to continue the partnership, it was a logical decision to extend our relationship and it is with great pleasure we confirm Mark will drive for us in 2013."

With defending double world champion teammate Sebastian Vettel of Germany already contracted to Red Bull Racing until the end of 2014, the English-based stable are the first team to confirm their 2013 driver line-up.

Asked if 2013 would be his last season in F1, Webber replied: "I've been asked this question for the past four years and my answer remains the same.

"It's a results-based sport at the front of the grid so the future lies in my own hands. It's down to me to deliver the on-track results."
