Few days away, not to far, not to close.
Few days away, not to far, not to close.
I am thinking of a few days away with my wife.
Preferably I dont want to drive to far, but I also don't want to be to close.
The only thing I can think of at the moment is Bang Saphan, but we have already been there, so I wanted to ask if anyone else has any tips?

Was also thinking of that.. still might be an option but I've also been there 4 times.
Was more thinking of something nice at the coast, that will give us a good few days in a okay hotel/cottage.
There doesnt have to be much arround, appart from a market to maybe take a walk over.
Maybe it is best to go to Bang Saphan then I guess.

Actually I was just looking at Ban Krut and Khao Kalok.
Ban Krut seems very nice. Any hotel tips?
Just noticed a long weekend is coming up the beginning of August, so I might be taking my children.
A beach cottage would be nicest. Not to fancy but also not to simple.

Greetings
I recommend Chumphon beach area. Located about 4 hours south of Hua Hin. nice beach coves and fairly tranquil, also has snorkeling and boat rides. not over developed and good prices for food and staying over night.
I am sure others here can offer links or their experiences.
cheers

There was a thread on this about 10 days ago viewtopic.php?f=7&t=21150&hilit=Chumphon which gave a pretty positive recommendation of spending a few days in the Chumphon area.paul406 wrote:Greetings

Or maybe Ratchaburi.
Beautifull and should be a little bit cooler.

Just out of interest, what is there to see and do around Ratchaburi? I know the area because of its golf courses but that's about it.
I also thought that it was generally hotter than HH. Certainly Kanchanaburi can be although I appreciate that's a little ways away.

I spose Rat'buri's claim to fame is the Damoen Saduak Floating Market (the original one)
There is also a vast national park which holds numerous wildlife , historical wats and waterfalls etc.
I believe there was/is a hotel within the park.

Re: Few days away, not to far, not to close.
We went to Hatwanakorn National Park for a few days. They have small houses on the beach and boat trips out to a small island for snorkelling.
Bearing in mine we cannot advertise on this site we also stayed in Jill's friends resort "they went up the hill together and he broke his crown" great place for children. We took a group Austrian Exchange Students and Students from Somtawin for the weekend.
We have also stayed in Thap Sakae a little further South. We found a small hotel but we also have the details of a "home stay" and there are a few beach hotels a little further South. We took groups of students to Thap Sakae to the small sailing club, good fun they have Hobie, Lazers and Optimist and English speaking instructor.
PM me if you want the "home stay" contact.
