Hickory Jazz a Review

Post by blue05 »

Tried Hickory Jazz a few days ago and left unimpressed to say the least.

When I got there I took a table outside for the smokers, I waited nearly 10 minutes for a waiter to come out. They had about 8 customers at the time with 3 waiting staff so not exactly over run..

Placed my order and had a 10 minute wait for a coke.

The food came and it was the most tasteless bolognese I have ever had, it was basically minced beef on spaghetti. Truly tasteless.

Did not try any of the hickory menu so that may be great but steer clear of the pasta

We had a pizza from there recently.

It was ok, but nothing special. Price was about average.
The chips actually really tasty, but at 150bt for a small handful, you'd rather expect them to be good!

I'm with BB on this...

We always get chips (or the kids do) when we go to Black Mountain Water Park. These are 100 baht a pop which is a wee steep but... there is a nice portion and they are chunky.

If I got anything less than the below for 150 bahts worth of chips I'd be a little worried about the 'added' cost on every other plate of food. The below is only a couple of potatoes remember.

Where is this place... they have just made a new customer from this thread.

I wanna photo of these 150 baht chips to post on here. :D Maybe they are in abundance, smothered with cheese and coated with lashings of curry sauce - we are only getting one side of the story here.

I shall report back when someone tells me where it is. Gonna be next month though. :D

I don't know. My girlfriend brought it back in a taxi for me after she had finished work. Somewhere near BKK hospital I think

The chips were really tasty. But the portion was tiny. A small box, and not even half full. No lashings of anything!

Your G/F ate most of em on the way home me thinks

Nowhere do you pay 150 for chips alone outside of a hotel surely? Sure it wasn't f/C and the G/F ate the fish too?

lol everything's possible I suppose. But I think I would have noticed - I can't stand fish, and I'd have been able to detect the aroma on the chips.

We worked out the price from the total price of the bill minus the price we knew the pizza cost. So either we got our maths wrong (we were both sober and double checked, so not likely), or they got their maths wrong (certainly possible), or they're just really expensive chips!

Another landmark that's more visible is Condo Chain, that 18 story yellowish tower, on the opposite side of the main road.
