Actually on that note... if you like to eat frogs there is a place on the other side of the road from Somtawin School (Thai school on Petchkasem - former venue to the international students) that has frogs packed in ice along with all other seafood. She's the lass that brought me my bag of live toads. The food is actually very good there if it's still there.
A meal under 100 baht in that establishment - sure!

I love Thai food and sure, you can get a mound of stuff for around 100 Bht but how long is it before you are hungry again? Ever wondered why Thais eat little and often? Yes it is healthier than a gorge out 4 times a day but now and again I have to go for a gorge out (once a month)
Went out last night and got this plateful of Schnitzel, fried potatoes and a salad for 190 Bht. Had a problem getting up after downing it with some white wine.

A good Grapaow moo and a large Chang, available all over the country, usually within a 500 meter radius.
Panang moo is also good and costs roughly the same as above. Another tasty dish is a noodle dish that's made with those chunky yellow egg noodles and a thick type of soup/gravy.
Seriously, it's amazing just how much you have here, even if you don't want to spend more than 100 baht. Obviously it also depends on what sort of venue you're happy with. On the rare occasions that I do eat while out, I just look for any place where there are a lot of Thai customers, and so far I've never been disappointed.
Fish and chips for 95 baht at Gifs sounds good, so will maybe try some tomorrow while I'm waiting for my daughter to finish her Karate lesson with John.

Is "gifs kitchen" the actual name of the place, and is it displayed outside. I rode up and down soi 94 I don't know how many times on Wednesday evening while my daughter was doing her karate class, and I couldn't find any place called "gifs kitchen". There was one shop with a similar name, but it certainly wasn't "gifs" and the owner who has lived in the area for a long time also said she's never heard of it. Wouldn't mind trying the fish and chips, or if someone knows of any other place selling fish and chips in the area, please post.

We almost gave up looking for it ourselves! So basically you cross the train track then keep going to the end where you reach a t-junction/skewed cross roads. If you imagine it as a T-junction you need to turn right then take the next left. If you imagine it as a crossroad then you're going straight ahead.
Follow that road all the way down, past Suoy Vista. You'll usually see a horse on your left hand side, and Gif's Kitchen is on the right.
