Are there crumpets for tea?

Post by easyas »

Well, I was told there could be - but from where?
I used to be indecisive - but now I'm not so sure!
"A worn spear cannot even penetrate a thin cloth" - Chinese proverb
"Accomplish everything by doing nothing" - Laozi

Everything turns out for the best in the end.
If it’s not the best now, it’s not the end.

I believe you can get a bit of crumpet down Soi Bintabaht, whether they do tea or not is a different matter.

There are "crumpets" everywhere of each possible persuasion, and if you want to drink lame-ass tea like Liptons with them/it (notice the grammatical difference with the pronouns) then it's your decision. Isn't there a point in the 'Forum Starter Pack' (which everyone should read incidentally) about ambiguous thread titles that seem to pander to a minority section humour (or more likely no-one at all other than the original poster) that almost is trying to tease everyone at best for some warped loonie reason.

I love these speculative smart-ass one liners from newbies whether they start a thread like this, or once you've explained everything then some know-it-all chimes in with a post like "Isn't that how it is everywhere?" Or "Didn't you know that already?" However, they fail to realise that a forum is about discussion of subject and not wise-ass one liners.

I've got pages worth of this stuff.....could go on and on and on and on.

Hang on a minute...

The OP possibly has the longest bit of writing under that line which separates his post from the writing that's always there (gotta be a more 'technical' way of saying that :D ).... in the history of HHAD.

This makes him a living legend surely.

I find in recent years English crumpet has become a little too fatty for my tastes.

It's been 8 years since I've had one, or thought about one TBH, and now I really fancy one. :D

It called many things, e.g. signature, sig, sig block, etc.

Back before the world wide web was born we used command lines to access the text based internet. Only graphics I remember seeing were ascii art http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASCII_art, stuff like this:
/\
/__\

(That's a triangle that would be aligned if I remembered how)

Some signatures were so beyond the pale that the only possible response was to praise them with deep sarcasm. Thus, alt.fan.warlord was born. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alt.fan.warlord

My favorite for the best worst sig ever: http://archive.birdhouse.org/etc/kibosig.txt created by Kibo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Parr

Oh ... we were talking about crumpets. Right. Given this is the Feeding Time thread I think it's completely unacceptable to use food terms with double meanings in titles. I know I think of Jessica Rabbit when someone mentions jugged hare.

I mean the food crumpet... not the other one.

Possibly misread your post there Frank  .

Think you might've. But it takes a real man to admit to eight long years, so I applaud you.

Or have I made the same mistake....

This is getting confusing now. I think we need to set some ground rules for this thread. Maybe something along the lines of...

* When referring to 'crumpets' (the tasty food item), one must use the word in its plural from.

* When referring to 'a bit of crumpet' (the tasty person), one must use the word in its singular form.

CrumpetS (in the north we call them pikelets) used to be available in Villa but very pricey. Haven't looked for them for a while now.
