Those were the days when Paul Sturrock was a great manager (before his sad illness). We really thought we were going places. Strange that the same manager was so prevalent in their demise as well.

I remember watching Macc v. Watford, we were telling Jermaine Pennant how shit he is and he's an Arsenal failure, just before he skinned 4 players and buried it.

The difference in quality is frightening.

The problem of having International players in a bottom tier squad will again hit home for the Green Army this week. While the top tier clubs get a week off to facilitate International duty, there's no such luxury for the Green Army. We will lose arguably our best player for the first local derby of the season :?

Is this fair? Probably not, but hey ho, it's only Torquay at Plainmoor this week :guns: I'm sure we'll find another schoolboy to fill his place :?

Another bad result from the boys in green and from the sounds of it a very fair one. When will Brent make the decision on Fletch - from everything I have read, it sounds like Fletcher has had a good playing budget to utilise and now we are 11 games in with only 11 points - can't face another season like the last fighting against relegation! The only good thing yesterday is the friends up the road losing!

I'm not saying that I'm a fan of Fletcher - far from it. However, Brent has said from the outset that he wasn't going to buy glory. I personally think we're stuck with Fletcher for a while yet. After all, success shouldn't come overnight. Season 1 - save the club. Season 2 - consolidation. Season 3 - promotion. Wishful thinking, I know, but lets just wait and see what happens.

I would love that to be true - my only ambition this season was to not be involved in a relegation battle again!! Unfortunately with Brent saying that we had a competitive budget and mentioning that we should be near the top come the end of the season but already looking like another season of battling for points - something has to change. With our two loanees expected back at their clubs this week then maybe further loan options are the way to go but something needs to happen but as you say - maybe not a change of manager - yet!

Yes, a big draw away against the mighty Dorchester Town - I guess the Beeb sees it as a good bet for some giant killing.

How are we doing? Hmmm.... that's a hard one. I think disappointing would be an understatement. They did manage back to back wins recently - first time in 14 months :D

I'll be honest - I couldn't really care less about today's result. OK, it's nice to get into the 3rd round, and draw a decent club, but the Green Army don't really benefit financially. In the deal with (past) players after coming out of administration, it was agreed that any such windfalls would be used to pay them their back wages a little quicker.

For a team in the bottom tier of football, IMHO cup competition only bring bookings and injuries - something a lower tier team can ill afford. The team that usually does best at that level is the team that can field the same 11 men on a consistent basis.

It would be nice to put a cricket score past Dorchester today all the same :D
