Does anyone have a basic (Thai style 1 speed) bike for sale? Or one they are not using they may want to get rid of? Either men's or women's frame is ok.
I've looked around town and found a few shops selling used bikes (very few are available) but they only had the 24 speed mtn bike type costing 5-6000b.
I am just looking for a basic 1 speed Thai style as the roads are flat here anyway. If I end up getting a fancy bike then I need to worry about it getting stolen.
I saw Tesco has them new for about 3000b, which is ok, but still more than I really want to pay for a basic bike that will just be used to get food in the nearby village. Back in Canada you can get used bikes for 800-1200b... not sure about here, that's why I'm asking.
Thanks.

It would have to be a VERY fancy one indeed, around the 1000,000 THB mark. Have you seen some of the bikes the Thais are riding? I don't think many thieves would be interested a 10,000 K bike anymore.

Don't try to impress me with your manner of dress cos a monkey himself is a monkey no less - cold fact

Hello,
medsai,
- Your bike sounds very close to what I would like. I will call you tomorrow (Aug 3rd) and arrange to come look at it.
Sorry I haven't answered you earlier, I have not been on-line for 1 week.
Ace
- you are probably right, some of the more well-to-do "locals" seem to have some nice bikes indeed.
Thanks everyone.
