New to Hua Hin

Post by abigail »

Good Afternoon, I have just moved here, I am looking for a local taxi firm for shopping etc. does anyone have any idea of the price for a couple of hours a day? One company charges 1000 baht for two hours is this about right? Thanks for any info you can supply

Welcome to the forum abigail. 1000 Baht for 2 hours sounds very steep (considering the average wage is about 300 Baht per day) - where are you shopping, and what are you shopping for?

abigail, my personal feeling is that you are being ripped off. However, as I've only lived here for 4 months, I'm sure others with more experience than me will either confirm or refute my opinion.

As a guide, I took a Tuk Tuk from Bon Kai to Immigration and back today, and it cost me 400 Baht. However, he didn't wait for me while I did my business - I simply phoned him to collect me when I'd finished.

Welcome to the forum, Abigail.

1000 baht for 2 hours locally seems very steep - I'm sure you can do better than that.
You need to shop around and you'll find someone that suits you.

You could do worse than start by trying this number: 085 175 4289

We use them for long distance trips - very reasonable and safe.
This is the way

My local geography is pretty rusty, but I have used tuctuc from Market Village to Orchid Palm (in the hills) for 300 baht. Market Village to soi 19 - 120 baht. 1000 seems high.
