I was looking at this myself.
There is something called the yellow bus, that you can for sure find when you google it.

On the site it states this is one of the routes, but when you look at the time tables this route is not visible.

My mother is coming over in two weeks and wants to visit Phuket together with me, so I will pass by one of their contact points over the next week if I don't forget when passing. (It is likely I will forget though, knowing myself. )

You should be able to book through travel agents in town although they may charge a small fee.
I think the southern bus station on Petchkasem can book them as well.

Yellow bus station is just north of the Airport Runway around the first turn and almost immediately on the left side of the street next to some new shopping store project. Good buses and have both first and standard class seats on every bus.

You can book a ticket at the southern bus station in Hua-Hin. You may also want to consider taking a regular 1st class bus rather than a VIP bus. No difference really, other than the VIP buses look prettier than the regular buses, and they cost more. Service however is exactly the same.

VIP buses do look prettier - they might also have decent tyres, although the ticket price is never any real guarantee but it is something worth checking before you get on any bus IMO.
