Schools Out - Any Sports Activities For 6 Year Old Girl

Post by JimmyGreaves »

Schools are out for about 4 weeks and my daughter is at home and will soon be getting bored.

Anyone know of any activities available? Sports if possible but other suggestions very welcome. She's bi-lingual Thai/English

Hi JG

Not sure how you feel about it, but I've found my 7 year old has really taken to doing Karate. The only thing being, karate is an ongoing thing rather than just a holiday activity. If interested, you can contact John at the WADO Karate Federation. His club is in soi 94 and all the details can be found here on HHAD.

Hi JG, 6 years old is often too young to endure 2 hours of training. In the WKF we normally stipulate 8 years old as being the minimum. However, there are exceptions and Takiap's daughter is one of them.

You are quite welcome to bring your daughter to a Wednesday class (6pm to 8pm) so that we can see if it works. The first class with WKF is always free, and there is absolutely no obligation to continue.

I do try to intermingle an element of fun with the serious training to keep youngsters interested, but 2 hours is still a long time to keep a 6 year old interested. I am expecting another 6 year old this Wednesday, so she wouldn't be alone. If you need more detail, PM your e-mail address, and I'll send you a map.

Night time karate out.

Swim lessons would be good, where is the resort and at what time can she have lessons?

It's probably for the best - 6 year olds are rarely ready for something as intensive as martial arts training, although many unscrupulous clubs will take kids from the age of 4. Believe me, I've seen it all end in tears too many times.

Thanks for the consideration anyway.

Thanks for your help on this. Maybe give it a shot when she's older. At the moment really looking for day time activities.

Not sure about swimming lessons, but you could always try the Vic Hua-Hin School for daytime activities. I know they have several things going on on the weekends, so maybe something worth looking into. :thumb:

Apologies, I had no intention of breaking the forum rules but since I have the information that is being asked for I thought I could share,.....I was wrong.
Hopefully someone else can help this member find swimming lessons, as I am not allowed to help out in this instance.

Why don't you pay to advertise here?
