I used to frequent this plae when we lived in Takiap, but as has been mentioned, the quality of the food seemed to go downhill, so like others, we stopped going there. It's good to hear decent reports now, so perhaps a visit is in order.

About the club sandwiches.....yes, you can't expect a decent one if they're using that stuff from 7/11 which some people call bread. The nice thing about it though, is it never goes stale because it's so full of preservatives. The other problem with sandwiches in Thailand is that they often don't have any butter on them, and if they do, it's often the putrid sweet butter-like spread or "Dannie Boy" butter which tastes equally as bad. Saying that, the Thais aren't really familiar with sandwiches, so if that's what you want to eat, it's best to visit a place that's geared up to serving Farang, or alternatively, make your own.

Oh, and stay away from sandwiches that have mayonnaise on them as well, unless you have a sweet tooth. Even my wife can't stomach the mayonnaise over here.

:D  No, and to be honest, I'm not sure whether it's called "Dannie" or "Dannie Boy" but I do know that it tastes damn awful.

Butter on sandwiches? First thought was 'that's just wrong', then changed it to being just wrong for all the sandwich ingredient combinations I've ever heard of. Excluding, obviously, sandwiches which are fried in butter such as grilled cheese.

So, in your humble opinions, what types of sandwiches are just not the same without butter?

I grew up in the 50's when butter was the most predominant "lubricant" to adorn a slice of proper bread, not what is generally sold in UK supermarkets today, and god forbid the stuff that is sold in most Thai supermarkets. I have never lost my preference for real butter and would always use it out of choice, although if I am being honest I doubt that I or many people could tell the difference between the real thing and most of the alternatives if it is being served up with a particularly strong flavour e.g. Marmite!!

In a restaurant with such a wide range of European, Mexican and Thai dishes, I can't say a club sandwich would be high on my list of dishes on which to base a review!

More seriously, is there anywhere in HH that does a decent Club sandwich - with real bread, real bacon and real mayonnaise?

The best 'sandwiches' of any kind are surely to be had at Subway. 8 years in Thailand I have not found a restaurant that comes close. Wish I had one near me tbh.

Glad it's been taken over again, we used to go about once a week as the GF liked the Duck. (And my Animal obsessed Son liked the Shrimps in the fish tank, quiet for 20 minutes )

Went last time in December/January and left after 15 minutes without them even taking our drink order.

Hope the food is good and it does well as it's a good little spot.

The place is just past Soi 106 on Phetkasem road and is called (still) Pandintong, but the sign is only in Thai except for the word "New". It is now owned and operated entirely by a really nice family and the food is very well priced and very good
