Wallpaper fitting companies/technicians in Hua Hin ?

Post by niko13 »

Hi everybody,
We have decided to fit wallpepaer in our Villa and we are wondering if there are any capable technicians/companies located in HUA HIN to do the job. The wallpaper is coming from Goodrich - Singapore its kind of an expensive one, so we are looking for experienced indivinduals... Goodrich have their own crew and they are good but extremely expensive . so we were wondering if the local trade has this kind of people.

Any help guidance ideas will be very helpful.

Many Thanks
Nikolas

Wallpaper, high humidity.... beware IMHO. We've been through/going through this in our place in China where we have high humidity and temperatures on a par or higher than Hua Hin in the summer months.

Admittedley, we may not have had the best decorators (all looked good at the time), but the paper was falling within the first year.

I'm sure guys like SJ who have far more experience in the building/housing field will give you decent advice however.

I agree. Wallpaper and tropics do mix. Mold and stain issues. Wrinkles after time. But in the end its up to you.

I put wallpaper on one wall in the lounge three years ago. The paper was bought from Home Pro and I used Solvite paste from the UK. The wall still looks great to this day. A friend as just had her wall papered and said it was very expensive to have the company fit. I don't think I would want a local handyman to do at a cheaper rate. I think you would be asking for problems.

Sorry, but it has nothing to do with the Tropics.(I guess you meant to write does NOT mix?)
Like everything else, it needs to be installed correctly, particularly the preparation of the wall surface.
I have wallpaper in my Condo in Bangkok that is now coming up 15 years old. It does need replacing now because of discolouration, but apart from that it has not been a problem.

Sorry, I do not know anybody in Hua Hin that I could recommend.

Hi, Been around Hua Hin looking for wallpaper paste, no luck so far. Think I may need a friend send some over from the UK, unless someone Know where I can get some locally.

Any update on where to buy paste, Thai Watsuda suggested the thick white latex glue which is just a stupid suggestion.
