Good eats in City center

Restaurants, food, beverage, hawkers, and local markets and suppliers. This is the place for discussion on Hua Hin's culinary options.

Good eats in City center

Post by Farang »

I've had very pleasant dining experiences in city center recently. On Soi 80, on the first corner coming from the railroad parallel road there's a really, really good place called Angie's Bistro. I've visited there with friends and we all were very well received with excellent food and very nice and polite staff. My friends were raving about Liver & Onion and I'm raving about both Curry and Chili con Carne. Angie's CcC is the best I've had since Buenos Aires.

Another pleasant surprise was Krua (= Kitchen) Hua Hin on Pheskasem, almost on the corner of Soi 78. Excellent Thai food in a gem of a restaurant in a bit of an unlikely place next to Tessabahn and a number of tailor shops.
Krua seems to attract many Thais, which always is a sign of very good food. Both of the places, Angie's and Krua are very decently priced.

A gem? Between the typical thai chairs that were designed for low cost construction and not fitting the human form and the traffic noise it's a long way from a gem.

I agree the food is good, certainly a cut above average. Went there 3 times and will never return. They are among the worst practitioners of what I call the Farang Go F*** Yourself Downward Spiral, which is dramatic reductions in portion size, food quality and service on subsequent visits until you never return.
