Yes I think they are right there. Western women do use sex as a bargaining tool, and many would benefit from the Thai attitude - that it is a simple bodily need.
I have to wonder though if Thai attitudes towards sex would be different if the country had been colonised (as per a recent thread discussion) but maybe - given the religion - it wouldn't have made any difference.
They worship the thing which produces life, and that can be seen in all the phallic symbols around. There is no shame in sex. There has never been a Victorian style prudish influence.
But as much as I don't understand the Western attitude, I don't understand the Thai attitude to ageing, where Thai women consider themselves to be 'old lady' the minute they hit 60 (or sometimes less.)
The only explanation I can think of for this attitude is that Thai women recognise that men need a reproductive age woman - so they give way to the younger fertile female.
A sprout is for life - not just for Christmas.

You think that they allot themselves to the 'Old lady" category at 60-- I beg to differ they are in the VERY
old lady category at 60. Sadly, they often think of themselves as old ladies at 50 or as early as 45.

But that used to be true in the western (UK) world a generation or so ago Mags - my parents considered 60 as being old!!
