Ask For Moon - Beach bar, open until sunrise
Was a bit surprised to find out that there's a bar on the beach which opens until sunrise - as I thought the powers that be were against that kind of thing.
Walk down the main way to the beach, turn left and walk past the area where all the parasols and day restaurants are and just at the end there's a little bar with a couple of tables and chairs. Decent chillout music, seemed to be some kind of bluesy westerny medly when I was there. They have beers and vodka buckets - not sure what else as I didn't bother looking at the menu at the time, but there seemed to be a decent enough selection of spirits behind the counter.

Sounds cool!
How was it like, crowded or not?
Similar bars are almost everywhere else in Thailand's beaches, and I think this would be good for Hua Hin as well. Well.. I don't know about the time limits, but this might bring more young people to HuaHin and make it more lively

It's wasn't the least bit lively! There were probably 3 or 4 tables taken, but they all had people slumped on the loungers relaxing and chatting. No dancing or anything like that.

Hehe, maybe we'll have to make a change to that!Pleng wrote:It's wasn't the least bit lively! There were probably 3 or 4 tables taken, but they all had people slumped on the loungers relaxing and chatting. No dancing or anything like that.
Re: Ask For Moon - Beach bar, open until sunrise
just a private party, not very interesting
Re: Ask For Moon - Beach bar, open until sunrise
Now Now - I'm not sure we want Hua Hin to be more lively than what it is. We have Hua Hin for peace and quiet relaxation, mostly for retirees. The loud noise and drunkiness we try to keep in the Soy Bean Tabac area. I'm not at all sure we want HH to have noisy beaches and silly young brats spilling their guts all over. Keep it to Phuket and Pattaya - and Koh Samui for that matter.huahua wrote:Sounds cool!

Agreed, we don't really need more young people and a livelier Hua Hin. It's fine the way it is and I believe people like it this way. One of the reason's I moved here from Pattaya. That stuff is good for Pattaya, Koh Samui and Phuket but it needs to stay there.Pedro C wrote:Now Now - I'm not sure we want Hua Hin to be more lively than what it is. Okay okay,m I got your point. Hua Hin is good as it is, nice and quiet place for old farts . Just joking, I guess that's true, if people want more lively then there's a lot of other places. A couple places I like are koh Chang and Koh Samet.

And don't fergit - Hua Hin is His Majesty the King's summer resort. Some dignity and respect is required around here. You are in Thailand - not in Liverpool!huahua wrote:Okay okay,m I got your point. There are times old farts can go on 'til sunrise! Only happens a few times a year now, but would be good to a have a late night bar for a few more quiet drinks without hitting the head banging nightclubs. Sounds great on the odd occasions I can do it. Good brekky b4 bed and sleep the day away!!!!

Are you sure its left or is it right?
Used to be a small bar along from the Sofitel going south. About 500 metres from the tourist spots and just before the board surfers stretch
Run by a bunch of rastas . It was a great place to chill till the sun comes up providing the band didn't expire under the influence of . I thought it had been demolished but these type of places tend to rise again
Hey.......this is one old fart who does occasionally like to see the sun coming up

Re: Ask For Moon - Beach bar, open until sunrise
Well if it's right you don't pass through the area where all the parasols are in the day time, so I'm pretty sure you go left...
No bands here. And not really much that could be 'demolished'
