Came out of the bank in RCA Plaza (Royal City Avenue, Bangkapi) just now and saw them testing this in the carpark. Had a quick chat and found out it will cost just short of 100,000 baht for one of these babies. Good to go green, but at what cost?

At 23Km/h it's not quick enough to outrun a Soi dog - ooops.
They should change the name the YikeBite.

That's an interesting point, excluding the manufacturing and disposal impact, would cycling be greener? And even greener
The cyclist pumps out CO2 at a rate above normal and needs to consume more food. Way too complicated for me to work out .... Steve G, you know about these things - would it be greener to cycle or greener to charge up the Penny Farthing and scoot along at a resting respiration rate.

yet another stupid faddish hands by you side epic fail.
The reason bikes, and motorbikes, and cars have the hand controls where they are is that it allows for hand eye co-ordindation - they are easier to control. Like the similar hands by your side Sinclair this will end up on the scrap heap of design history.
And yes, it also looks like a Hoxton it crowd trendy dumbass sci fi Penny Farthing put together in a workshop mode with Maaaahhler on the iPod.
they should have put two of those shopping trolley castor wheels on the back then you could look like a total tit riding it as opposed to just a run of the mill tit.

You can cycle as far and as fast as you want and not have any effect on the amount of C02 in the atmoshere. This is because all the food you eat is part of the natural carbon cycle of the earth in that the energy is derived, either directly in plant stuffs or indirectly in animal products, from the photosynthesis of C02 into sugars. Humans would have to start running out of food before causing a net rise in C02 levels. The penny farthing would be neutral if you charged it from a solar panel but not if from a coal powered power station. The cyclist pumps out CO2 at a rate above normal and needs to consume more food. The C02 in fossil fuels is from photosynthesis originally but from millions of years ago and that is what is causing a problem by upsetting a climate that has been beneficial to human progression.
