England v India 2012 1st Test

Post by MrPlum »

Nice to see England fighting back after a dismal start. Cook on 168. Matt Prior 84.

Congratulations to India. The nation loves cricket and after the drubbing we gave them in England, you can't blame them for wild celebrations. :thumb:

Well I'm following the second test and I think they've got it in for you Mr P
0832:
WICKET - Trott lbw Ojha 0 (Eng 68-2)

You wondered if one wicket would bring plenty and India will certainly be smelling blood now. To be fair, Trott's shot would have led to a wicket whatever the conditions, as he goes back on his crease and misses a straightener from Ojha, getting trapped plumb in front. He really is in a poor run at the minute, England's number three, that was plumber than Plumby McPlumb, winner of last year's Mr Plumb contest on the Planet Plumb.

Gone are the days when English cricket was abysmal and the Aussies won everything. We have some great talent fighting for places in the squad.

I like this new world where England, Australia and South Africa are battling for the number 1 spot. Fantastic result in India. Wonderful to watch.

Quite a turnaround after the 9 wicket hammering in the first test.
All the batsmen eventually came good, especially Cook although he failed in this game. The spinners did OK and Anderson was a much better pace bowler than anything India had.Prior had an excellent series, once again,to enhance his claims as the best wicket keeper/batsman in the world,at present.
Should be a great series against the Aussies in the summer.

:agree: Been following this through the highlights programme - some excellent cricket, as India is a hellish place to play.
And England appear to have unearthed (no pun intended) a potential gem in Joe Root.
This is the way

As an X cricketer it is now wonderful in terms of TV coverage because the average Joe soap and Mrs. Joe soap who never played the game are now able to understand the many complexities in the game. The only other sport with so many variables is of course GOLF
