I put it into Google Earth, and most Talab's are in India - didn't see any in Thailand.

Richard, what does the (sp) mean?

Wikipedia lists 25 districts (amphoe) in Ubon province. These have all links again that show you all their subdistricts (tambon). These tambons consist of numerous villages (moo baan) that are not listed. I have gone through all the tambons but nothing remotely resembles Talab. Your best shot of locating this place is to find out how it is written in Thai and search that way.

And Richard if you find her say hello from all of us!

Are you sure you found it? You are not already on the bus are you?
Zevon mentions a Baan Talat in Amphoe Samrong. Obviously a Moo Baan as it is not listed as one of the Tambons in Samrong.

Note that Wikipedia also shows a Ku Talat in Muang district and a Thalat in Warin Chamrap district.

As you know Talat means market and it is probably the most common name given to a Moo Baan you can find in Thailand. There might be several in Ubon province.

Good luck on your quest!
