Dusit Christmas lunch disappointing

Post by ken.p »

Having decided to go to the Dunsit Thani for lunch, our party of six arrived at 12.45 for our 1pm sitting, taken straight to our table and seated. Drinks ordered we started to go get food.
A good choice of starters, our problems started at main course, Turkey not ready, please return in 10 minutes, which turned in to 30 minutes, having got 1 small piece of Turkey I then went to get baked ham, again I was told sorry ham not ready please return in 15 minutes.
A disappointing Lunch, at a 5 star resort.

What is particularly surprising is that the Christmas Eve event was superb and not just our opinion. There were 6 couples on the mini bus home and everyone was completely satisfied. Food, service, drink (we had the 'bottoms up' ), value for money was spot on. Amazing that they could get it so wrong 24 hrs later.

Incidently we went to Terrace 90 for Christmas day meal and another great choice. No complaints what so ever.

Hi Rone, glad your visit to the Dusit on Christmas eve was enjoyable, as our visit the following day should have been.
We also had friends dining there earlier on Christmas day, who had plenty of everything, guess we where just unlucky, which of course should not have been so
Should the Dusit reply to my email, I will keep you posted.

We went for a regular dinner at the Dusit a couple years back. Both the wife and myself we're very disappointed......it was our last time there.
Why is it called 'after dark' when it really is 'after light'?

ken - they should have refunded - end of story. But all too often we let things go, not wanting to make a fuss, rather than complainig straight away. A hotel like the Dusit should have everything in place, on time, for a Christmas carvery. They know how many they are catering for and they've cooked countless turkeys before. No excuse iMO. I hope you get it sorted.
A sprout is for life - not just for Christmas.
