Would a single Canadian lady fit into the Expat scene in HH?
Greetings everyone,
I have just returned from a lovely Xmas holiday in HH. I have been to Thailand more than 20 times but this was indeed my first visit to HH. I must say, I fell in love with the area. For the frst time ever I could actually see myself semi-retiring in Thailand. I am currently in Hong Kong. Here is my question.....how would an aatractive, well educated and travelled, single western woman fare in Hua Hin? Is there any possibility of meeting a nice man who would be interested in a western woman vs a Thai woman? One of the things that impressed me about Hui Hin is the fact that the sex trade is not in your face. That was definitely a refreshing change.
I'm returning to Hui Hin for Chinese New Year to do a bit more exploring. I read somewhere that Tiger's bar was a good place to meet up and chat with ex-pats. Is there anywhere else I should go to meet some westerners who have travelled this route ahead of me? Thanks in advance for your advise and thoughts.

I'd very much hope the answer to your main question is yes, but I'm not really in a position to advise you on that.

By day the Sport Villa is a good place to relax have a swim, gym, or just eat and chill out lots of friendly people there, and the Canadians frequent their too.

Hua hin is a nice quiet place but you have to be realistic about landing a man.
You do see some western men with girlfriends the same age as them but not many.
Also the old men you see with old wives will have been together for a long time and not recently met.
With so many available women that are not married, it will be a tough ask.
good luck

Didn't realise you were a marriage/relationship councillor. Thought you just chased young BG's looking for a cheap pull around HH and Pat Pong.Jose wrote:Hua hin is a nice quiet place but you have to be realistic about landing a man.

Devinemissd,
It's all up to you and where you go.
In HH and for that matter Thailand, there are old farangs with young Thai maidens, there are old farangs with old Thai maidens, there are young farangs roaming around on the hunt (Jose being one

Divinemissd,
I would certainly be interested..... having recently become single.
How old are you and how much money to you have...
Good luck.

I see no reason why wouldn't be able to have a great time here. Whether you meet a nice man or not, is of course you'll only find out once you're living here. I'm sure there must be a few who prefer Western woman, and besides, you could end up with a young and fit Thai man.
In fact, I've just recently me a woman from the US who is married to a Thai man many years younger than herself, and they both seem to be very happy.
Anyway, welcome to the forum and I hope you have a wonderful time when you visit for the Chinese New Year.
