Post by Divinemissd »

Will do....:) BTW, am curious what is a reasonable monthly rent for a nice condo with a pool in a nice safe area?

Probably best to have a good look through the Accommodation section and then, if you can't find an answer, post that question in a separate thread there.
This is the way

Divinemissd,
for two bedroomed sea view you would be lucky to get for 30,000-40,000 thb/month. It's certainly not cheap in Hua Hin and the prices go up and up. I hope that some of the veterans on here will give contrary information but I'm afraid this is the case.
I pay 25,000/month for one bedroom, maybe 50sq mtrs and no sea view. It's a nice condo though in a good area with pool, small gym, parking and security. Oh and a 60 second walk to the beach.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
GN.

Thank you GN for your reply. I am just trying to put a finger on the pulse.....so I am beginning to think that purchasing would indeed be a good investment, despite what you read about lots and lots of empty condos. I got that impression while visiting....so I maylook into that further when I return in Feb. Again...thanks for replying.

I think your best bet is to come, look and see what is available and where - once you know what is available for the price, you can then decide whether you really need to be sea-facing and/or within walking distance to the beach etc, etc. Nearly everybody recommends that you rent for at least 6 months while you search out that desirable property/location, rather than buy too hastily and then regret it later on. There really are a lot of properties available and a lot more in the pipeline, so I'm sure you will find something that fits your budget. Good luck.

Good advice from Dannie Boy. The rental market for condos is very seasonal and its a short season. If the 2nd bedroom is for guests and not used all of the time your guests should happily stay in a hotel :thumb:

You should be now, you need ten posts.

BTW there are lists of rentals in Hua Hin here: http://propertyhuahin.net/property.php?type=H&for=R

Try and time your arrival so you will be house/apartment hunting in the off season, from May through to October. I just had to go through a house finding/move through November-December and it was not a happy time!

There may be lots and lots of seemingly empty condos but many well-off Thai owners don't come down every weekend.
