I think that's a splendid idea - you make fifty pies each and I will select some judges to sample the goods and decide on the winner.
This is the way

Well if we made 50 pies each, we would soon know if one of you ate all the pies!!

If it wasn't for the restrictive work permit rules I wouldn't mind turning out a few things, although in HH you would never make a fortune so it would be more a hobby than a business. For anybody who enjoys cooking then you should give them a try, it's a bit time consuming but not that bad as most of the ingredients are readily available, although I do use a seasoning mix that I buy in the UK but you could make your own without too much difficulty. Bon Appetit

So I started to make my own. I then realised why they were expensive...Labour intensive. I've got 2 different size tins in which I make them.
1 pie would weigh about 1.7 kilo's and the other about 2 kilo's.
I usually have a bit of meat and pastry left over so I make these aswell.
Delicious pork pie..jpg
As before, are you prepared to make them for sale (to me - and others, I supect!)?
Gala pies and pork pies both - they both look scrumptious!
Absolutely no kidding!

Do a search on Youtube.

Chris.
Found them! Now I just need to translate it from English to American  :duck:

looks like we could have a competition Christopher? I have to admit that I havent yet tried making the gala pies, but pork pies turn out very good and everything as good as you would buy in the UK, if not better.
Well if Christopher1 ain't interested how about you?
Selling, bartering, whatever your wonderful looking pies?

The problem easyas is that making them would be quite a chore to do it on a regular basis in a domestic kitchen. The photo I posted was of pies I made on Friday and I won't be making them again for a few weeks, but when I do, I'll send you a pm and you can come and get one if you want.

Would you pay 1000 baht for a 1.7 kilo pie?
That's what I think they're worth....
I paid 1400 baht per kilo for 'grain fed' Australian beef in Macro,
It was tasteless!

Up to you.

BTW. I do the best chicken tandoori curry that you've ever tasted.
Think I'll ask JW to come round for a taster!
Free to him, of course.

Feed lot meat from anywhere isn't worth the buying - see if you can find grass fed next time.
Best beef I ever had was from Vanuatu of all places!
But surely your pies are made from pork?

Work permit?

I know a guy who's Thai wife makes pies in their condo and he peddles them around places in HH. Oz pies too. Does deals with mom and pop shops who invariably have 'poor' farangs regularly drinking there
