cost of government lease registration for land

Post by frank1957 »

Hi all, I am being asked by the company that is building my house for 300,000baht for the 30 year lease fine, but now they say the registration fee will be 100,000baht, can anyone tell me if this is excessive or the norm as I have been told it should be around 20k, can anyone shed some light on this many thanks

Check the facts with a reputable lawyer. I used Chavalit Finch, who advertise here, when I had a house built this year and heard of no such 'lease fine'. Sure, I had to pay for the lease agreement and then the land transfer fee and associated tax but while it was more than 20k, it was certainly closer to that than 300k and was also split 50:50 with my builder, which seems fair enough.
