Advice on which area(s) in Hua Hin to rent property

Post by scotbritboy »

Hello
I am looking to move to Hua Hin in April 2013 - and I am travelling over next week (for two weeks) to check a number of things out.
Any advice on which area(s) to look at renting property would be helpful.
I am looking for a comfy 2 or 3 bedroom villa with the usual western comforts. Monthly budget up to 20,000 Bahts. Thanks for your help.

If I was going to rent in HH..after finding a place that may suit, I would go visit the place during the day..how many dogs sleeping under the parked cars..?
OK now go back around midnight..if you walk/ride a m/cycle down the same street, stop outside the same hose & check if those same damn dogs all gather as a pack & bark uncontrollably, then just think how the hell you will ever sleep if this racket goes off anytime someone comes in the St..?
Never mind drunken noisy Thai-men, or loud motorcycles..it's the Soi-dogs that will grind you down :guns: And it's them that are taking over every residential area in HH!
(My mate lives in a new street, with new houses..a pack of dogs have moved in and they will attack you from behind if you walk down that street, even during the daytime!).
Sorry to paint such a negative picture here.
Also think of * where's the nearest supermarket?
* Do you need m/cycle taxis/Tuk-tuks?..are they nearby?
* Shops? Noodle-stalls? laundry? Parking? traffic? Security?
* Do you want to be close to the centre or prefer the more rural 'out-of-town' ambience? you give us some clue on here & I bet many suggestions will come-forth..

Big thing to keep in mind is water. Hua Hin has serious water problems so be careful renting something up on hills as you may not get water for days or weeks even during the rainy season. You will notice plenty of water trucks out and about.

Dogs are aggressive when they are used to being abused by so-called human beings.
I have befriended two of our "Three Musketeers", one unfortunately being too shy. The other two patiently wait for their treat after we have had breakfast. They raise the alarm at night whenever suspicious individuals or animals(?) get too close to the premises.

Hi,

I have lived in HH a little more than 3 years now, and I have now just relocated to our own house. For 3 years I rented an apartment in Soi 112 at a place called One One Two Residences. This is swedish owned and so called serviced apatments. The apartments are all the same, kitchen and livingroom in one, two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a terrace. The master bedroom has ensuit bathroom. I will not hesitate to reccomend this place to all. Nice, quiet and service minded personnel. The resort has a large swimmingpool. If you rent on an annual contract the price is 18.000 baht, and electricity will be added. Included are free wifi internett and cable tv.

Here is a link to the place:

Sorry I can't put out the link yet (to few posts), bur you can search One One Two Residence Hua Hin on Internet.

Brgds
