Hello

Post by Dan1 »

Just saying hello.

Returning to Hua 1st week in March and will probably stay at least a week. Last time I visited was 2007 so I'm sure a lot of the bars/cafes have changed hands and names since then. Although I like Thai food I do like the odd poached eggs on toast for my breakfast. I used to eat at a cafe on the main road which I think was called Victoria Cafe owned by a guy called Barry. I think I read on here awhile back that he had moved. Can anyone remind me if, and where he has moved to. If it helps it was next door to a Englishman's pub which I think was called The George.

Cheers,

Dan

Barry is now in soi 80, not sure if he opens for breakfast but he certainley dishes up some great British grub evenings. Lins cafe is about 100m walk up the road from his old location and they do a good breakfast.

Dan,

I echo what JW says.

Both venues good for good old Brit food

Victoria

Barry, who is a lovable miserable old sod has varying opening times depending on staff, moods etc but does a great breakfast, good English fare (liver and bacon is supreme) and great fish and chips (with Manchester caviare of course). Also many take aways. Pork pies, scotch eggs, stews, apple pies etc. All home made by Barry. Best to call before you go to check if open (name of the game in Thailand). Number is 0806139278. Don't tell him I told you as I'll get earache again

Lins

Mega breakfasts and good pub grub. Additional favourites for me are F&C, chilli CC, beef stew, cottage pie and Roast lunches everyday (beef, pork, lamb)

Enjoy
