Volare Italian restaurant

Post by crazy88 »

Stumbled across this little gem when I was down at the Grand night market. Next door to the boxing stadium. The owner talked a good meal so I went back with a few friends and had dinner. Fantastic all round. I had a pizza, which was thin and crispy the way I like it with a great base sauce which IMHO is something most, not all, places in town let themselves down on. Also tried the dishes that the others ordered. The mussels were the best I ever recall having. The steaks were perfectly cooked to order in a porcini and cognac sauce. Huge portions and excellent service from chef Franco. Give it a try :thumb:

My pizza was one of the most costly with anchovies, artichokes, Italian sausage and a few other things @ 280. The steaks were @ 400 odd. Small Heineken 70 or 80. All the people I was with were either Thai or expats and they thought it was really good value and quality.
