I have a Retirement Visa.... and have just returned from a trip home where I obtained a new passport. On arrival at Bangkok Airport, I presented both my old and new passport to Immigration and the officer duly entered the correct arrival entry info into my new passport. I inquired about having the old visa data transferred to my new passport and was told "no problem", just go to your local immigration office and they will do it. And there is no fee.
So off I go to Hua Hin Immigration and requested that the info be transferred.. This was done and I was then told that there is a fee of Baht 500. I queried this fee but was informed must pay. Which I did. Then I asked for a receipt and the officer just smiled ... but no receipt.
Is there a fee for transfer of visas at Hua Hin Immigration?
