Bus to Bangkok
Bus to Bangkok
Do any of the readers know if there is an airconditioned VIP bus service to Bangkok, not the one going to the airport and not the kamikase piloted small buses from the corner of Chomsin/Petshkasem Road. If there is where do they start from in Hua Hin.
Re: Bus to Bangkok
Here's one option we've talked about on here before. I'm sure there are others as well. Pete

Re: Bus to Bangkok
I see that reference frequetly to some blue/white buses leaving from Sa Song road or the Clock tower, but I have never been able to identify where they leave from or arrive at. Does anyone know the exact location?
Re: Bus to Bangkok
I haven't used it for a while, but it goes from the bus symbol in square B6 on this map:

It's an office with a ticket counter and some plastic seating as a waiting room and the bus goes to the Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai) in Bangkok.

Virmand..there's no real landmarks next to the bus-terminus..it swings-in, loads-up & goes.
I think the Montana Hotel is about opposite where you wanna be.
This service DOES run mini-buses as well as the big bus, but asking inside at the ticket-booth the lady WILL tell you what times the big Blue+White's run..so you can buy a ticket for that service.
One thing to note is that this service runs to the (newish) Southern Bus Station which is quite a way out from the city-centre of BKK. (As I've never used this bus for a few yrs now I'm not up-to-press with the Bus Stn. to City Centre transfer options).

Re: Bus to Bangkok
I know you can get the bus from Pranburi to BK I can,t remember if it went through HH. Must of though. What luxury compared to the vans of death.
The southern terminal is a problem though. Therese no real way out of there without a taxi. BTS promise a new station there this year. TIT.
The taxi to the closest sky train cost 120 bht last time slightly south of the river.
The last one took me to Victory monument. Maybe he was on a promise.
The Swampi airport bus is great.
And probably easier to get into the city.
Just an opinion.
