Hi! looking foward meeting you !

Post by dizzymike »

thx for having me, as you see I am new to this forum, originally from germany but living in the US for 15 years, semi retired, 51 years old, single,
I decided to check out los for retirement, I am not a fan of Pap(tt)aya, BKK to live there, the hua hin area is looking more suitable for me,
I am looking forward to rent a full furnished condo, better a house, 2 bedrooms, 2 bath a green yard would be nice and parking,
although will be in need of a bycicle, scooter and car any input about that ?
Have the one year visa, multiple entry already and thinking about getting the retirement visa, the embassy in DC is very friendly and helpful, but may be I had a lucky day :D , so , thats so far about me and we will see how this adventure will go, cheers :thanks:

There are plenty of properties to choose from, best bet is to take a short term rental while you look for somewhere permanent, take your time to make sure you get what you want, where you want it.

If your budget will stretch to it, then buying a new vehicle is your best bet, 2nd hand hold their prices incredibly well, so there are rarely any bargains to be had. Not quite as bad for 2nd hand scooters, you do occasionally get something advertised that's reasonable value, but of course buying new is good if you can afford it. There are a number of bike shops in and around HH so you shouldn't have too much of a problem there.

Good luck!
