house rental or ? caretaker or villa mate or whatever ;-}

Post by dizzymike »

HI!
i will be coming to HH in september for 6 to 9 months, after being in Panama and Nicaragua for a little bit, so what would be the easiest and best way to organize a rental? house, 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom min. better 1 1/2 or 2, a green yard, a pool is not needed but would be a plus, full furnished ( not cheap ), full kittchen, HS Internet a must, SAT TV with CNN, CNBC etc a must, nice, save neighbourhood ( no fricken loose dogs everywhere, barking all night ), HH area!!! , I will have bike and scooter and whenever I need it a car, so transportation is not an issue, I don't need maid service, figure that out by myself :D
I try to organize this asap, just being a early bird , if any offers, no out of the world farang/gringo/yankee prices :tsk:
thank you for your input
mike/nn dizzy
:cheers:

PS: reading on thaivisa today about "russian problems" is it a problem in HH too?

Check out the list of sponsors in the sidebar dizzymike. That will give you an idea of prices, and from reliable rental companies.
There are always plenty of properties to let in the area, and better deals are often available for the length of lease you are after. Having your own transport should also give you more options.
But - (there are always 'buts') you may find that it is a bit too early to be making a definite deal. You will probably struggle to find HS internet. Best check out posts on the Digital Realm for info on that. And there can never be any guarantee of dog free zones, especially with the type of property you are after.
There are houses in the gated security guarded compounds which should be as dog free as anywhere, and usually with a communal pool. Or there are always Condos to let that might fit your spec - without the yards of course.
People usually advise going to HH first and looking around. If you can't do that then I would definitely stick with the reliable agents, and don't be put off if they say come back later. Hopefully JW will be along soon to give you some insider advice.

Pick one here and fill in the form, all the rest will be done for you: http://www.propertyhuahin.net/property.php?type=H&for=R

Alternatively if you're on a budget you'll need to do it yourself when you get here, a guide can be found here: http://www.expathuahin.com/renting-huahin.php

If you haven't already seen it, have a look at this thread viewtopic.php?f=20&t=23365&p=295609#p295609 and be aware of the potential pitfalls.
