Hello all
Hello all
Finally arrived to my final destination,so to speak.
In other words I have retired and moved to Hua Hin. I've been reading this forum in Oz for a few years now and it has been very handy for my activities since arriving here. Thank you all.

Re: Hello all
Mad Max indeed. I tried it but it was taken. In my short time here I have met one forum member already. I had a cataract surgery by Dr Pairat. He operated on three people on Saturday a few weeks back. Myself, another farang and a monk. HHtell was either the farang (my first thought), or the monk.
If against all odds he was the monk it was a bold move. He looked very dapper in yellow robe and sunglasses. A mixture of Laurence of Arabia and Indira Gandhi. I thought at least.
If in all likelihood HHtell was the farang, he didn't look anything above
Cheers

Re: Hello all
Perhaps not mad, but quite clearly not entirely sane either, and all the more welcome for that!
You should fit in very nicely, sir...

Anyone with a touch of insanity should fit in immediately. Sanity is vastly over rated as a requirement of a forum member. Much better an open minddtaai-maai wrote:Perhaps not mad, but quite clearly not entirely sane either, and all the more welcome for that!

Re: Hello all
Thank you for your kind welcome. Being named insane and mad after two posts must be a record for this forum. Should have asked about the cost of living or the best restaurants in Hua Hin. That would have been sane and interesting. Right?
I have to go now and wipe the tears of my face.

Ok. I think we are on the same ballpark now. I have never intentionally tried to offend anybody and if I have done it now, I am sorry.
Also I am quite sane, but bored. That was the reason why I joined this forum. After working all my life, retirement can become a pain in the butt.
Have a good day

I'll stick to the straightforward "welcome aboard" in future - boring but safe!

Hi aussiemax, I'm sure you wouldn't have offended anybody, unless of course they are ultra sensitive and there can't be many in HH who fall into that category!!aussiemax wrote:Ok. I have lived here permanently for about 20 months and life can get a bit boring.................if you let it. Depending on if you have any hobbies as an outlet - golf or another sport (lawn bowls is available) that will give you something to do on a regular basis. Most of the year, the heat makes it difficult to do anything too energetic from say 9.30 to 4.30 but if you wake early you could always go for a bike ride first thing, good exercise and helps to create a healthy appetite. If you have access to a swimming pool, more exercise and pass away the time. The main thing is not to let life pass you by, just find an interest and enjoy it.

Re: Hello all
Dannie Boy.
Thank you for your nice thoughts. I have been here now for more than four months and life here can be a bit boring at times. I have a lovely Thai wife who keeps me out of trouble most of the time. I did bring my golf clubs here but it's a bit too hot to play I think. Also my golfing skills are very limited( As my sense of humour, according to some)
Maybe one day we can have a round golf and a beer or two?

Unfortunately I don't play golf, but do have the occasional beer, so yes maybe one day.aussiemax wrote:Dannie Boy.
