Re: Full English Breakfast at Zab Wer...Soi 112
Went there on Thursday night and was not impressed with the food. The seating area and service is very good and the childrens play area is also great.
The food however, was disappointing. I had the chicken green curry and it was very runny, and should be renamed 'Chicken Little' as I only found 4 pieces of chicken in it! My mate had the beef in oyster sauce and was also disappointed. The next day my Thai wife commented that the crab fried rice was the worst fried rice she had ever tasted in her life.
To balance this out we did not try ALL the items on the menu, another of our dining companions had the fish and chips and liked it and indeed they seem to have their batter mix down to perfect.
Hopefully the owner(s) will read all the comments and try to improve/alter the menu/ingredients accordingly.
I wish them luck and will give it another try next month.

Correct me if I'm mistaken but every Thai green or red curry is meant to be "runny" as you put it. My brothers Thai wife used to make it like that all the time.
In fact I was in Zab Wer last week and had the red chicken curry with rice and thought it was very tasty.
Each to their own I guess.
I will mention your bad review to Peter when I next see him.
I would also add that it is a common courtesy on this Forum to introduce yourself to other members.

Common courtesy maybe but not the absolute rule. My review wasn't 'bad' as you mention, it was constructive criticism. I mentioned the service was good, the restaurant nice etc and also mentioned that another of our diners enjoyed the fish and chips. The point of reviews is to give feedback to the owners.sateeb wrote:Correct me if I'm mistaken but every Thai green or red curry is meant to be "runny" as you put it. If every one is 'shot down' by you because you think we are 'dissing' your mate Peter, then they will never get feedback will they??
By the way, nice to meet you too!!

Were you aware that green curry (Gaeng Kiew Wan) is meant to be served in a runny sauce?
Because I happen to know the name of the owner does not necessarily means that we are mates. I have met Andy at Cafe 99 and Bobby at Bobbys Bar too.
All that said, if I see Peter I will mention your "constructive criticism" plus the positives that went with it.

Of course, if Peter were a member of the forum, he could speak for himself, advertise, do all sorts of things!
I can't help wonder why more local businesses don't take advantage, especially when, like this one, they've had so much positive free publicity.
EDIT: Incidentally, I thought whistleblower's post was a bit odd for a first post, but it was fairly balanced.

Never eaten there but all Thai curry's are "watery".
Most are like a soup compared to say an Indian.

We agree entirely with this sentiment.dtaai-maai wrote: I can't help wonder why more local businesses don't take advantage, especially when, like this one, they've had so much positive free publicity.
