ATM fees increased to 180 baht?
Re: ATM fees increased to 180 baht?
Will look into that Pleng. Transferring money usually means taking a hit somewhere be it exchange rate or charges. Stopped paying all charges at the UK end a long time ago as the Thai banks always take a slice. Time for some research instead of wasting money on ebay.

Speaking of transferring money, does anyone know if it is generally better (exchange rate) to convert baht to dollars here and wire transfer the dollars or wire transfer baht to be converted to dollars once it reaches the U.S. bank?
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Never done it, but on the basis it is better to transfer $ to convert to baht on arrival, I'm sure you will be better off exchanging from baht to $ here before you transfer.hhfarang wrote:Speaking of transferring money, does anyone know if it is generally better (exchange rate) to convert baht to dollars here and wire transfer the dollars or wire transfer baht to be converted to dollars once it reaches the U.S. bank?

I get ~0.8bt below base rate for my transfers with no fee from my service provider, providing I make the change within UK banking hours. I don't know what rate the UK banks give but I doubt it's much more competitive than that (probably less?) There's an invisible charge from my Thai bank which I think maxes out at 500bt.Gregjam wrote:Will look into that Pleng.
