He's not well at all at the moment and it seems to be problems with his liver and kidneys. He's 84 and I reckon his body is slowly shutting down.
One of the associated issues is his refusal to eat and I'm wondering if there are nutritional drinks that may help.
My mother was seriously ill earlier in the year and also didn't want to eat. The UK hospital gave her Fortisip and Fortijuice. Apparantly 4 each of those a day gives all the nutrition a person needs - although they will lose weight.
My wife's looked for the above here but it dosn't surprise me that she wasn't able to find them - they're given on prescription in the UK.
There's an alternative called Build-up.
Does anyone have any suggestions for what is available over here? FIL is currently in HH hospital and on a drip but he may need some sustenance.
Edit I've just heard that all he's willing to eat are birds' nests - that spittle stuff.

The place to look in the supermarkets is the infant feeding section--I think that they have ENSURE>

Whey protein will give him the nutrients he needs...... Tesco's and most bigger pharmacies have it....

There is a pharmacy/old age appliance shop just past the Thai tourist attraction nearly opposite Index. They stock powdered food supplements. I bought some food to tube feed my father in law from there recently.
