The Monitor Lizards who inhabit the Mangrove Swamp opposite Barry;s place were certainly done out of a good companion!

Anyway, this did not distract from the fine company, the building team spirit  and the introduction of our trainer.

He thinks the whole thing is going to be damn Sanuk - and I agree with him.

Hopefully, with the promised sponsorship and some effort by all, we could be in for a great day.

Thanks again Barry

Again, thanks for the hospitality Barry.
As others have said, maybe next time we'll get in the boat and I may find my wish of visiting the jungle being fullfilled
Also Buksida and Monsta may well be around next time, so hopefully a growing attendance.

I'm delighted to announce that the Evason has agreed to be our co-sponsor :D

They will also be providing 1 or 2 people to join the team 8)

Thanks to all those who turned up yesterday for the wet from inside training session - most enjoyable

As agreed yesterday, we'll all be meeting again next Sunday at 1 p.m. at Mermaid Cruises Pier for the official launch of the Crazy Falang Team Long Boat, sent down specially from Samut Sakhon :thumb:

So we still need a few more to join the Dream Team, guaranteed to be the first one to hit the bar after the first round

Just let us know here or send a PM or call me or Terry :)

That's great; two sponsors already Mermaid Cruises and Evason. Now, let the fun begin.

I'm available to assist if need be, but don't live in Thailand.

I'll be in Hua Hin between 5 and 15 September and I return on 12 November which I believe is the day before the race.

If you are having any practice sessions in September then I'm available and if there's still a space on raceday then I'm your man.

I have a chair and tennis racket at home, so I can practice paddling before I get there. Let me know if I need to do it right handed or left handed.

Great news - our boat has arrived at Mermaid Cruises Pier :D

It's 23 metres or approx. 76 ft long
 (see pic - our flagship "The Peacock" is almost 70 ft)

It was also the boat used by the winning team a few years ago 8)

So the official launch of the Crazy Falang Team Long Boat will be at 1 p.m.-ish this Sunday, 27 August at Mermaid Cruises Pier :thumb:

All those who can provide lifts and those needing them please meet at HH Railway Station car park at 12.15 on Sunday.

Be prepared to get wet from the inside and out (we have a shower facility) and then sit back and chat and enjoy some Thairish hospitality

See you all on Sunday

P.S.

Hooray! We have a boat! Is that good or bad? I was quite enjoying the drinking practice sessions!! :thumb:

Will be there Sunday with my little supporter (my littl'un who is dying to see "mummy's boat"!)

Looking forward to it! :D

You're spot on Terry.

The rest of them are support craft in case any paddlers experience serious difficulty, e.g. running out of beer on the way down the course

See you all here at 1 p.m. today

Back from the training, it was more fun than I had thought. A bit of muscle pain maybe expected tomorrow but otherwise it wasn't as hard as one might think. Had to leave early (and so couldn't finish the post-training session) as I'm in the middle of my nose whitening month and on a special diet as well to get all ta.. sorry toxins out of my long suffered body.

Thanks once again for the hospitality (& the chicken curry!! Yum! :D ) Barrys. Really good fun, today. Thought we were going to get dunked in the Pran a few times, but we managed to stay afloat! Arm muscles a bit stiff & sore now, but I really enjoyed it. Not sure about poor Terry who was behind me for the 2nd leg & must have got half the river all over him from my paddle! Sorry, Terry!
Sanuk maak & see you all next Sunday! :thumb:

Great pics and looks like a load of fun. You need a drum and a drum beater though to get in sync....LOL. Pete

PS: Maybe a battery op boom box with bass high would do the trick? :D
