Frozen foods?

Post by Sholan »

Every time I go to the grocery store I browse down the frozen foods isle and wonder if any of the packages aren't that bad for you. Are there any healthy frozen foods? If so, which of the frozen foods should I get? Any recommendations?

Frozen fruits/berries and vegetables are good for you. I would have to say frozen meats and fish are good for you to. The packaged processed stuff in a box that you can throw in the microwave or oven probably isn't the best stuff for you.

I know some commercial fisherman here and the freezing capabilities their large boats have is amazing.

If I go to a general market (like a Tescos) I would rather buy a frozen fish than live. The fish was flash frozen on the boat, but who knows how long the fish has been thawed in the counter.

I always buy frozen shrimp (unless I see live) for the same reasons.

I get the feeling that the exercise and health thread and this thread are going to combine into an advert for healthy frozen food to aid good health

The freezing isn't the problem, it's what is frozen.
